The Walla Walla Police Department is a destination for its officers. The organization is made up of 48 commissioned Officers with unprecedented longevity. The members of the Walla Walla Police Department embody the core values of Service, Pride and Inegrity - not only at work, but in their personal lives as well.
For a medium sized department, WWPD offers a wide variety of assignments, full-time and collateral duty assignments to include Patrol, Major Crimes Detectives, Computer Forensics and Cell Phone Forensic Detectives, Drug Detectives, Gang Detectives and Gang Enforcement Team, Career Criminal Apprehension Team, K9, Emergency Services Unit (SWAT and Hostage Negotiations), Firearms Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, and Field Training Officers.
The Department also provides premium pay for Education (AA and BA), ESU, Bilingual in Spanish, Firearms Instructors, and Lead Officer Assignment.
The Department is in a relatively new (since 2012) 30,000 square foot building, designed and built specifically for Police. The building is the result of an extremely supportive community who voted in a $12 million bond to build the facility during the great recession.
Walla Walla is a great place to live, work, play and raise a family.
