Office of the Attorney General

The Colorado Office of the Attorney General is the attorney for the State of Colorado.  Attorneys at the Office of the Attorney General help protect Colorado families and communities from crime, safeguard Colorado's natural resources, and fight against identity theft and consumer fraud. The Water Resources Unit of the Office of the Attorney General assists the Colorado State Engineer in administering Colorado's water. The ten sections of the Attorney General's office have primary authority for enforcement of consumer protection and antitrust laws, prosecution of criminal appeals and some complex white-collar crimes, the Statewide Grand Jury, training and certification of peace officers, and certain natural resource and environmental matters.
