We are now allowing lateral transfers for Certified L.E. new hires. This allows for an officer from another agency (in or out of Iowa) to be hired at the Cedar Rapids PD pay step consistent with total number of years of service as certified Peace Officer. Candidates will still need to go through the complete Civil Service hiring process. This incentive applies to pay only, not seniority, vacations, etc.
