The Laramie Police Department responds to approximately 25,000 calls for service each year. These calls include everything from blocked driveways to homicides.
Patrol Unit is the most visible face of the Police Department. Consisting of 32 of the Department’s 47 sworn officers, Patrol is divided into Day Shift, Cover Shift, and Midnight Shift.
Investigations Unit consists of three detectives and a detective sergeant. The Investigations Unit assists officers in the Patrol Unit with criminal investigations that require special investigative skills and experience.
The Police & Community Services (PCS) Division of the Department oversees the recruitment, hiring, and training function of the Department as well as the crime prevention function.
