The Shawnee County Department of Corrections (DOC) is an accredited professional correctional organization located in Topeka, Kansas. The Shawnee County DOC consists of a Juvenile Detention Center and an Adult Detention Center. The Shawnee County Department of Corrections is looking for applicants for both adult and juvenile detention who are seeking a challenging and rewarding career in the field of corrections. No experience needed, must be 21 yrs of age, no felony convictions, valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a background investigation, physical, and drug screening.
At Shawnee County DOC officers are paid overtime for hours worked over 40 per week, shift differential and additional pay for officers selected to serve in the role of Field Training Officer and those who are selected to provide bi-lingual serves. Ten (10) paid holidays per year, paid vacation and sick leave for all staff, paid sick leave incentives, health insurance, KPERS retirement plan, and optional Cancer Insurance available.
