Chattanooga Police Department

The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) is the primary law enforcement organization serving Chattanooga, Tennessee. The CPD responds 24 hours a day, seven days a week to any requests for police service within the city limits.  Our department serves a diverse population of 179.139 residents and we currently have a budget that consist of 500 officers.  Our Neighborhood Policing Bureau is made up of 3 Sectors that covers 144.6 square miles

Candidates that are hired by our department will attend our own non-residential POST approved 22 week academy and an additional 16 weeks of field training, Lateral hires will attend an accelerated training academy and field training.  We currently have academies that begin every March and August.
