The Alameda County Probation Department (ACPD), supervises youths to age 25 who are sentenced to probation supervision in the community in lieu of state prison. ACPD is also responsible for supervising those who are housed at the Juvenile Justice Center in San Leandro California, and individuals who parole from state prison and deemed suitable for community supervision under AB 109.
ACPD headquarters is located at 1111 Jackson Street while three Probation Centers are located throughout the county (Oakland, Hayward, Dublin).
ACPD employs approximately 660 staff from various levels, while 450 are sworn peace officers in Deputy Probation Officers, Juvenile Institutions Officers Classifications, there are many dedicated administrative, fiscal and clerical staff as well.
