Savannah Police Department

The Savannah Police Department is led by Chief Roy Minter and employs about 540 police officers and about 90 civilian personnel. The Department is recognized as a world leader in Community Oriented Policing, and has trained officers from many police agencies around the U.S. as well as from a number of foreign nations.

The Savannah Police Department uses walking beats, patrol cars, bicycles, motorcycles and horses in strategic ways to best provide effective police patrols for the City of Savannah.
