Job Description

The Summit County Sheriff's Office is located in Breckenridge, CO.

Patrol Deputies are responsible for 619 Square Miles of the county. Summit County also includes the Arapahoe Basin, Keystone, Copper, and Breckenridge Ski Resorts.

We consist of Patrol, Investigations, Special Operations (Search and Rescue/Boat Patrol), Detentions, Civil, and Animal Control.

Some collateral assignments include School Resource Officer, SWAT, Field Training Officer, Honor Guard, and being an Explorer Advisor to mentor those who want a career in Law Enforcement.

Detention Deputies are responsible for operating the Detention Facility, conducting court security, and transports.

For Patrol we offer take home vehicles (in county). We offer a Cadet program where an applicant may be selected to be sponsored through a police academy. Employee housing may be available depending on availability at the time.
