Job Description

Columbia County is currently recruiting for the position of Lateral Corrections Deputy in the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.  Only applications from currently certified corrections officers will be considered.

This is a Civil Service position that is full time, 40 hours per week (plus overtime). 

Oregon DPSST Basic Corrections certification is required that is current or lapsed due to a separation from a certified position for a period not to exceed one year. 

Must have passed a probationary period of at least one year with another law enforcement agency as a Corrections Deputy.  The County will also accept equivalent certification under the same terms from another state.  Candidates must also have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a thorough background screening as well as pre-hire medical and psychological screening.

Salary: $3,847 - $5,635 plus DPSST certification pay (2.5% for Intermediate; 5% for Advanced) - with very good benefits.  Salary at hire will be offered based on prior experience.
